As one of RBH's primary objectives is to maximise the return on its investments to provide the RBN community with benefits that are sustainable, generating income for the developmental needs of the current RBN generation and growing the asset base for future generations is hugely important.
RBH contributes to the sustainable development of the RBN in a number of ways:

The objective of this area is address the health challenges of the Royal Bafokeng community, with a view to creating a community that is aware of health problems and finding ways and means of dealing with them. This will be done in partnership with the Health and Social Development Services (HSDS) department, NGOs and institutions that specialise in health issues.
The objective of this area is to address other social aspects of the community that will contribute to reducing poverty and vulnerability. Again, RBH works with HSDS.
The objective of this area is to contribute towards socio-economic upliftment by engaging disadvantaged communities in sustainable job creation activities as well as promoting a culture of entrepreneurship in the community working with the Royal Bafokeng Enterprise Development (RBED).
The objective of this area is to improve the quality of education by adopting a holistic approach to educational development. RBH will only support initiatives that have been initiated or identified by or in partnership with the Royal Bafokeng Institute (RBI), the custodian for education programmes for the RBN.
The objective of this area is to promote sports in the community through developmental programmes. Special attention will be given to soccer, athletics, rugby, netball and martial arts and these projects will be implemented in partnership with Royal Bafokeng Sports (RBS).
The objective of this area is to provide a platform for children to get involved in professional musical activities as music has been shown to develop intellectual, emotional, social, motor, listening and concentration abilities.
RBH will work hand-in-hand with RBI, the custodian for education strategies and programmes, and Royal Bafokeng Administration (RBA), the principal implementing agency for service delivery, infrastructure development and administrative support in all relevant CSI projects. RBH will also work with its investee partners in funding identified projects.
IBT was founded by Impala Platinum Holdings Limited and the Royal Bafokeng Nation and became operational in 2007. The two parties entered into an agreement in terms of which they undertook to contribute to the social and economic development of the people residing in the Bojanala District of the North West Province. The founders will make equal contributions to the IBT which is a grant-making trust.
